Fort Worth may be where The West begins…
but you’re not dealing with a local deputy on horseback anymore.
These guys have the usual high-powered cars with red and blue flashing lights, and they will catch you.
And there are a lot of people to catch. Not only does Fort Worth have three quarters of a million people living in it, but there are so many commuters in surrounding cities like Arlington, Burleson, Hurst-Euless-Bedford, North Richland Hills, and even as far away as Weatherford who driving into Fort Worth every day. Three interstate highways bring all kind of travelers and truckers through the city on a daily basis. People from around the globe come to visit the Amon Carter Museum, the Fort Worth Convention Center, and the annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.
Fort Worth has some great schools, too. TCU alone attracts 9,000 students from all over the world, and there’s also Texas Wesleyan, Ft Worth campuses of UTA and Tarleton, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the five campuses of Tarrant County College. That’s a lot of college students driving Fort Worth streets and getting their share of speeding tickets.
All of this contributes to a lot of traffic on the roads, causing some drivers to get frustrated and drive too fast. That’s when the red and blue flashing lights come into the story.
